Abstract
Few people know that the berries, the taste of which most of us are familiar with from childhood thanks to the famous barberry candy, are also widely used in modern cooking, cosmetology and even folk medicine.
From the fruit of barberry, or, as it is also called candy tree, cook a variety of jams, compotes and marmalades. The oblong sour berries of red-wine color are very popular in Caucasian and Asian cuisines - they are used as an original seasoning in cooking pilaf and risotto. And also from the pulp of barberries squeeze out a useful juice. The drink is not only pleasant to taste, but also helps to cope with many problems of the body. Natural barberry juice is practically not found in wide sale, but you can prepare it yourself.
