Abstract
The ketogenic diet is a drastic reduction in the proportion of carbohydrates in the menu and an increase in fat intake. The body then enters a state of metabolism that burns fat for fuel, called ketosis. A pleasant "bonus" can be considered the improvement of the cardiovascular system and the improvement of brain function. The ketogenic diet is also used to prevent cancer and improve the effectiveness of radiation oncotherapy.
